Potential Autoimmunity of SARS CoV-2 RNA and Adenovirus Vectored Based Vaccines: A Call for an Immediate Suspension of Pfizer-BioNTech Vaccine.

This preprint has been published: https://juniperpublishers.com/ijoprs/IJOPRS.MS.ID.555658.php Nucleic acid-based vaccination, after its rapid approval, is considered first of its kind to be licensed for commercial use in humans. However, adenovirus vectored, and RNA based SARS CoV-2 vaccines possess a potential risk to induce auto-immune diseases and autoimmune myocarditis might be the reason for sudden death encountered in some cases. Thus, a strict system for post marketing surveillance must be secured to report any encountered serious adverse effect and the techniques used in development of these types of vaccines should focus on innovative methods to decrease their potential autoimmunity. Importantly, Smokers, obese and diabetic individuals are in general more liable to develop auto-immune diseases and an individualized risk benefit ratio should be considered before vaccination. Meanwhile, quitting smoking, loss of overweight and control of blood glucose level might prove beneficial to lower the incidence of the potential autoimmunity. However, since most of the serious adverse effects and fatalities are reported with the Pfizer-BioNTech SARS CoV-2 mRNA and an academic criticism of its design has been preprinted, we call for an immediate suspension of its use until properly investigated and compared to its counterparts.
