Synthesis and characterization of molecularly imprinted polymers and their environmental applications

Thèse 2021 Anglais

Résumé

The work described in this thesis aims to synthesize a gravimetric and electrochemical sensor for heavy metals and endocrine disruptor monitoring. The type and role of two different chelating agents (L-Cysteine and Acrylic acid) on the sensor’s performance have been investigated. The LOD and Kd were found to be 10-10, 10-12 M, and (1.1 ± 0.4)x 10-10 ; (1.1 ± 0.3) 10-13 M respectively. The designed sensor has been used to detect Pb in real media. The second part of this work consists of making BPA-imprinted polymers and PPy-Ag composites for the detection of BPA and Flu molecules. The detection limits were found to be 10-9 and 10-6 M respectively.
