Editorial on the Research Topic People, process, product, and policy: exploring the nexus for the sustainable digital transformation of the construction industryThe construction industry, vital for economic growth, faces significant challenges in adopting sustainable digital transformation.This challenge is more pronounced because the construction industry has traditionally been slower to adopt technology and innovation than other sectors.As a result, the construction industry faces unprecedented challenges in understanding the dynamics of incorporating innovations and technologies in the present industrial revolution.Integrating advanced digital technologies and innovations is essential for enhancing efficiency, reducing environmental impact, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the construction industry.However, achieving successful diffusion and transformation requires the industry to accommodate the nexus of different aspects.The global construction industry stands at a pivotal juncture, where the urgency for sustainability converges with the transformative potential of digital innovation.The goal of this Research Topic is to critically examine how the construction industry can achieve sustainable digital transformation by integrating advanced technologies, streamlined processes, innovative products, and supportive policies.This Research Topic provides a comprehensive overview of the pathways to achieving sustainable digital transformation in the construction industry, fostering innovation, enhancing efficiency, and promoting environmental responsibility.Across the contributions received, a consistent narrative emerges: although digital technologies such as building information modeling (BIM), artificial intelligence, cloud platforms, and smart contracts are increasingly accessible, their transformative impact remains uneven.The central challenge is not technological availability but systemic integration.The 4P framework, therefore, proves both timely and necessary, shifting the
