Résumé

It was highlighted that in the original version of this article (Gashu and Gebre-Egziabher 2018) published on May 8th 2018, Fig. 2 appears twice and instead of Fig. 3. The correct version of Fig. 3, which shows horizontal expansion of Bahir Dar and Hawassa cities, is presented in this Correction. The original article has been updated.
