Green Synthesis of magnetic Fe3O4–Biopolymer Nanocomposite Using Aloe perfoliata Gel for Photocatalytic Degradation of Rhodamine B

Article scientifique 2026 Autre

Résumé

This study investigates the use of Aloe perfoliata gel as a green reducing and stabilizing agent for the synthesis of magnetic Fe₃O₄ nanoparticles (NPs) and their incorporation into a biodegradable starch-glycerol hydrogel. The gel extract facilitated both nanoparticle formation and matrix development, producing a stable, eco-friendly nanocomposite.Photocatalytic activity was tested against Rhodamine B (10-30 mg/L) using 0.2 g of material under natural pH and solar irradiation.Complete dye degradation was achieved within 60 minutes through combined adsorption and photocatalysis for 10mg/L.Results highlight the synergistic effect of bio-stabilized Fe₃O₄ NPs and the hydrogel matrix, offering an efficient wastewater treatment strategy.
