An Exploratory Analysis of Pre-service Teachers' Application of Gagne's Nine Events of InstructionThe introduction I read the word 'explore' in the title, abstract, and elsewhere.Since the study is quantitative, this diction does not go with this study.Perhaps 'explain' could be an appropriate one.The design of the study is missing in the abstract.The introduction section is well-written.However, the literature review (particularly the first paragraph) is written with no immediate evidence in a vague way…extant literature…the results of empirical studies…prior findings….. Yet, no evidence is provided at all.I suggest the authors to supply sources on the spots. InstrumentFull descriptions of the tool are not provided.How many subscales does the tool have??Why did the authors modify?? What modification?? What type of tool and scale was it??Although the authors provided the Cronbach alpha value of the scale for internal consistency, the internal consistencies of the nine subscales are missing.Besides, nothing is reported about the validity of the tool. Participants, Sampling, and Data AnalysisThe authors applied convenient sampling, which is one form of non-probability sampling.The authors applied MANOVA, which is a parametric statistic that could be used only under probability sampling.Thus, I suggest the authors to analyze with non-parametric statistics equivalent to MANOVA.In addition, the authors did not mention what assumptions they checked to use mean values, since the mean is sensitive to outliers unless they check and confirm outliers and normal distribution of the data.The authors stated they utilized a four-point Likert-type scale in the data analysis section and a five-point Likert-type scale in Pre-service Teachers' Application of Gagne's Instructional Plan.Which one is correct??
