Thermomechanical Behaviour of Concrete Reinforced With Synthetic And Organic Fibers.

Article scientifique 2024 Anglais

Résumé

Abstract The aim of this research work is to study the thermomechanical behavior of concrete with organic fibers such as camel fibers, chicken feather fibers and compare it with concrete without fibers and with synthetic fibers (polypropylene fibers). In order to study the influence of the introduction of fibers on the behavior of concretes subjected to high temperatures, tests are carried out to characterize the various physical and mechanical properties of concretes at high temperatures. Concrete formulated with different fiber content (0.5% chicken feather fiber (OCC2), 1.5% camel hair fiber (OCC3) and 0.9% polypropylene fiber (OCC4)) and ordinary concrete taken as control concrete (OCC1) are subjected to heating/cooling cycles at a rate of 1°C/min at 105°C,150°C, 250°C, 500°C and 750°C. The results showed that chicken feather fibers can be used to reinforce concrete by improving its behavior in the face of increased temperature and by having a better impact on the environment.
