Psychology of Purity, the Body, and Intimacy: An Affective Journey from Emotion to Reconciliation

Résumé

This paper addresses the anthropological and psychological problematic underlying the interpretation of the ritual of "ablution from major ritual im-purity (Ghusl)" in collective and individual consciousness. The study seeks to dismantle the erroneous "conditioned association" established by cultural imagination between ritual purity and the impurity or degradation of sexual relations. Grounded in an analytical framework that combines phenomeno-logical psychology, psychosomatic homeostasis, and attachment theories, alongside the psychodynamic and anthropological analyses of ritual by Freud and Durkheim, the paper argues that Ghusl does not represent an ac-knowledgment of the moral inferiority of sexual activity; rather, it serves as a regulatory and restorative mechanism for cognitive and affective readjust-ment following a deeply complex human experience. Furthermore, the paper introduces a detailed psychometric framework for a proposed tool named the Ritual-Body Stigma Scale (RBSS) to assess body alienation and ritual-related stigma. خلاصة تهدف هذه الدراسة النظرية إلى تقديم إطار مفهومي مبتكر يناقش الديناميات النفسية والعاطفية المتداخلة بين أبعاد الطهارة، وتمثل الجسد، والعلاقة الحميمية، متتبعةً المسار التحولي للذات من حالة التوتر الانفعالي إلى مرحلة التصالح الوجداني. وتستند الأطروحة إلى تطوير نموذج "مفارقة الإرساء المعرفي" (Cognitive Docking Paradox) لتفسير كيفية إدراك الفرد لجسده وتأطير طهارته النفسية والجسدية ضمن سياقات العلاقات الحميمية. وتعتمد الدراسة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي التكاملي في فحص الأدبيات النظرية في علم النفس المعرفي والإكلينيكي والوجداني، مع التمييز الدقيق بين الانفعال كاستجابة نفسية-فيزيولوجية مرادفة للتغيرات اللحظية، وبين العاطفة والتصالح كبنية وجدانية مستقرة. وتخلص الدراسة إلى تقديم نموذج تفسيري يوضح أن تحقيق التصالح الوجداني لا يتم عبر نفي الجسد أو كبت الانفعال، بل من خلال إعادة التنظيم المعرفي لتمثلات الطهارة واستيعاب البعد الحميمي كخبرة إنسانية متكاملة.
