Résumé
Introduction: Inflammation is a general process of defense and adaptation of the organism to any tissue attack. The administration of anti-inflammatory drugs can be beneficial to contain inflammatory reactions. In endodontics, the use of anti-inflammatory drugs locally and / or generally is more and more frequent. Objective: The objective of our study was to assess the prescription habits of anti-inflammatory drugs in endodontics in relation to the different pulpal pathologies and the quality of fillings. Materials and Method: The analysis of medical files of patients received in OCE during the period from January 2015 to December 2017, made it possible to carry out a retrospective study for descriptive and analytical purposes. Results: Of the 100 files in our sample, 47 (47%) were female and 53 (53%) were male. Most general and / or local anti-inflammatory prescriptions were used in 71% of cases after initial therapy, particularly in the forms of acute pulpitis (35.20%). In addition, these prescriptions were made (45%) although the apical limits of the obturations were normal and, whatever the quality of the obturation. Ibuprofen was the most prescribed anti-inflammatory (51.70%). Conclusion: Prescribing anti-inflammatory drugs in endodontics is essential to limit inflammatory phenomena, however this prescription must be rational and reasoned
