Flipping the South African Journal of Business Management: The implications of going Open Access

For most of the history of academic publishing, the subscription model, where readers pay for new journal issues, has dominated. Recent years have seen a push against this model. There are two motivations for this push. Firstly, the research findings should be publicly available as it was publicly funded. Restricting access to journals behind paywalls limits science as the scientific community continues to build on past work.
