TAAT: Enhancing the production and productivity of soybean for improved nutrition and income

This report documents the progress of the Technologies for African Agricultural Transformation (TAAT) program in enhancing soybean production for improved nutrition and income across Africa. It highlights capacity-building initiatives, including Training-of-Trainers workshops and farmer outreach activities, conducted in partnership with national research institutes, ministries of agriculture, and local cooperatives. The document details interventions in countries such as Uganda, Kenya, Ghana, and Nigeria, focusing on improved seed systems, agronomic practices, and climate-smart technologies. It also captures complementary efforts in other nations—covering crops like sorghum, cassava, and aquaculture—to strengthen food security and resilience. By engaging youth, agro-dealers, and processors, TAAT fosters entrepreneurship and inclusive growth along agricultural value chains. The purpose of this report is to share lessons learned, showcase impact, and provide evidence-based insights that inform policy, investment, and future agricultural development strategies. Ultimately, it demonstrates TAAT’s role in scaling proven technologies to transform food systems, improve livelihoods, and build resilience against climate change across the continent.
