Comparison of Intradermal Irritation based on Poly(methyl methacrylate) Hydrogel

Résumé

Abstract To investigate the potential skin irritation response of domestically produced medical poly(methyl methacrylate) hydrogel, the intradermal injection method was used. Healthy white rabbits were selected for intradermal injection of 0.5% sodium chloride solution as a control, 0.5% sodium chloride extract, and olive oil extract for the test samples. The rabbits were observed for erythema and edema at 24 and 72 hours, and the primary irritation index was calculated. The primary irritation index of the domestically produced poly(methyl methacrylate) hydrogel was 0, indicating no skin irritation response.
