Creating a Liberation Safe Space: A Conceptual Model

Résumé

A liberation safe space is a type of social space that affirms and validates the perceptions and experiences of vulnerable and marginalized communities to reflect upon and discuss historical and contemporary forms of oppression, escape from embodiment, uplifting of peoplehood and social identity, liberation expression, and praxis. This article provides a conceptual model for undertaking liberation safe space-making.
