Review of: "Beyond culture shock: entering the complex world of Global South expatriates’ adaptation"
Résumé
Potential competing interests: No potential competing interests to declare. This is a quite interesting paper, dealing with a topical issue. I have a few concerns that should possibly be addressed by the authors. The first one is related to proofreading; there are a few language problems that should be corrected, including the mechanics of writing. Another issue is linked to the references and figures used in the study; I believe that the authors could have possibly included more recent statistics and references. Equally important, it seems that the issues hampering the adjustment of expatriates are similar to the ones associated with immigrants in general, particularly race and ethnicity. Also, I would have liked some mention of host countries where Global South expatriates faced these issues. In my view, expatriates would have different experiences depending on their background and the location they would move to.
