Space Optimization: A Functional Challenge Amid Urban Densification in Tunisia

Résumé

Demographic changes, urban density, new lifestyles and transformations of spatial structures in Tunisian cities lead to new challenges in Habitat (whether apartments, commercial buildings or houses).This translates into a need for increasingly flexible spaces and interiors that are modular, practical and optimized.The implementation of new living spaces requires the intervention of the interior architect in two preliminary steps: (i) proposing ergonomic, aesthetic and intelligent solutions adapted to each project to maximize space, and (ii) initiating people to accept the optimized spaces.In this work, we present new technologies, namely virtual and augmented reality, as a means of persuasion, before proposing solutions that allow interior spaces to meet the needs and desires of occupants.It is thus a question of reviewing the living spaces in the prism of these new ways of life, of modifying the traditional typologies of the production of habitats and of optimizing the existing.
