Magneto-hydrodynamic peristaltic flow of a Jeffery fluid in the presence of heat transfer through a porous medium in an asymmetric channel

Article scientifique 2023 Anglais

Résumé

Abstract This work finds application in porous-fabrication techniques and the chemical industry. This study examines the effects of the magnetic field and heat transfer on peristaltic flow of a Jeffery fluid conveying through an asymmetric channel. The problem is modelled with the aid of a long wavelengths and low Reynolds numbers. The expressions for velocity, temperature, pressure gradient and streamlines are derived using the hypothesis of a long wavelength. Numerical integration is used to estimate both the frictional force and pressure increase. The physical parameters are analysed and discussed graphically and find their physical meaning. The significant outcome of this work is to analyze the flow behaviour in an asymmetric channels. The results of this study can be used to improve pumping mechanisms in engineering and to improve gastrointestinal functions. This analysis allows bodily fluids such as blood and lymph to circulate freely within the arteries and vessels, facilitating the delivery of oxygen, waste excretion, and other essential substances.
