Process for Awarding RI Grants

Résumé

Increased dependencies on computer-based solutions in the STI landscape presents opportunities to develop and utilise effective systems that capture the entire grants management life cycle in a manner that is able to fully measure the return on investment in RI. This chapter presents the grant management processes used by the NRF to award RI grants including its submission, assessment, management, monitoring and reporting. The chapter further focuses on the use of competitive processes to review and award RI grants. In this process, a parallel focus on internal controls provides the ideal foundation for effective grants administration.
