Classification of RI Investment Areas in South Africa

Résumé

Increased impact from RI investment requires a systematic approach that integrates various key actors in the STI ecosystem. In addition, it is imperative that RI is accessible to researchers so that it is fully exploited to the extent that it leads to scientific advancement and innovation. A clear understanding of the various categories of RI forms the first phase for planning for the investments in RI at the national level. This section provides an overview of various RI categories in South Africa and draws attention to some of the significant investments in RI in the country.
