A defective oral state is often found in patients with CKD. Objective. To describe the oral status of non-dialysis patients. Patients and methods. This was a cross sectional prospective descriptive study conducted in the Nephrology Department of the G-Point Hospital, over a period of 3 months (from August to October 2018). It was conducted on successive cases of observation of the oral state in non-dialyzed CKD patients. Results. We studied 67 patients. The male sex accounted for 52.2% of the cases. The mean age was 48.33 ± 16.76 years old. The CAD / D index was 6.37 <6.5 with an overall tooth decay prevalence of 59.7%. The average decayed tooth was 2.24 with extremes of 1 to 18. The mean calculus score was observed in 38.8% of patients. Apart from caries, the other lesions were abrasions (43.3%), dyschromias (22.4%), mobile teeth (38.8%) and mucosal lesions (32.8%). Conclusion. Oral lesions are common in patients with chronic renal failure who are not undergoing dialysis. Patient education and collaboration between nephrologists and odonto-stomatologists is essential to improve and prevent these injuries through routine oral consultation.
