The Sustainable Management of Research Equipment

Résumé

The implementation plan linked to the management of research equipment is referred to as the management plan. It articulates the sustainable management, maintenance, operation and administration of the equipment over its lifespan by the grant holder and the research institution. The management plan is essential for the renewal, replacement and acquisition of new essential RIs. This plan therefore extends further than the minimum maintenance period from the supplier, to include the valid and functional life-span of the equipment. This chapter presents an outline of a sustainable management plan for RI investment.
