Mémoire culturelle et décolonisation épistémique : perspectives sur la résistance intellectuelle kabyle face à l’héritage colonial français
Résumé
Aim: To examine the ways in which Kabyle communities opposed the colonial annihilation of their knowledge, and to analyse the strategies used to safeguard and rehabilitate their intellectual heritage from 1830 to the present day. Methodology: The study adopts an interdisciplinary approach combining a critical historical analysis of published colonial documentary sources, an ethnographic approach to cultural transmission practices, and a theoretical perspective grounded in decolonial studies and critical epistemology. This methodological triangulation makes it possible to grasp both the mechanisms of colonial annihilation and the strategies of resistance that were deployed. Results: The analysis reveals that Kabyle epistemic resistance unfolded along three main axes: (1) oral transmission as a dynamic mechanism for preserving and producing knowledge, (2) linguistic and cultural preservation as vehicles for maintaining Indigenous knowledge, and (3) the emergence of contemporary movements of intellectual decolonization contributing to the renewal of Kabyle epistemic perspectives.
