Review of: "Is It Real? The Construction of Prejudice Against Nigerian Immigrants in Italy: A Case Study"

Potential competing interests: No potential competing interests to declare.This is a great and timely write-up.The author employed the most apt methodological and situational analytical mechanisms with the application of case studies (as contained in reviewed newspapers) and interviews.In particular, the presentation of such out-group construction of a people's realities by both political and non-political classes of Italian society was most interesting.Of course, the outcomes of the process could be seen in the established prejudice and associated discriminatory tendencies routinely geared towards Nigerian migrant groups in Italy.The paper did lay out formidable programmatic and policy interventions, especially within the host society, with the presentation of a human rights approach, though this approach might not be able to clearly identify the framework for explaining what is actually legal and what is actually illegal.
