Comparative analysis of China and Nigeria agricultural reforms in the advancement of food sustainability on a national scale

Résumé

Due to the rapidly growing population of China and Nigeria, a top government objective is ensuring foodsecurity. Dietary security is the ideal in which everyone has physical, social, and economic access to adequaterequirements and food preferences for a healthy and active life, according to the Food and Agriculture Organizationof the United States (1). The differences and similarities in reforms regarding agricultural policies, programs, andstructure of Chinese and Nigerian nations are discussed and analyzed. This study also correlates the findingsbetween the two countries. It investigates, enhances, and deepens the understanding of various reforms in thecountries. Its strengths, weaknesses, and impacts on agricultural production were also appraised; a conclusionand recommendations were drawn as a result. The data source method was purely secondary, and the theoreticalmodernization framework was adopted to deepen the understanding of the social edifice.
