Résumé

The manuscript titled "Evaluation of Antidiabetic Potential of Gymnema Sylvestre and Metformin Combination in Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetic Rats" is a well-designed experimental research paper. The authors were able to show the ef cacy of the combination of Gymnema Sylvestre and Metformin. However, I observed the following, which the authors need to address:. The authors reported that ... T2DM was induced in rats using a high-fat diet combined with low-dose STZ injections... What does it mean by low-dose STZ?The authors should state the actual dose and the reason for its use. .Why did the authors use a two-way analysis of variance instead of a repeated measures ANOVA, noting that numerical, rather than categorical, variation was measured? And this is especially for fasting blood glucose, cholesterol, creatinine, and Hb1Ac levels. .The authors should rather state the results before presenting tables or graphs.Table titles should be above the table and not below.Table 2's title does not represent the table content.. The authors reported that ' ...At the end of the trial (Day 28), weight, fasting blood glucose, cholesterol, creatinine, and Hb1Ac levels were signi cantly different in all groups (Met, GS, and Met+GS) compared to the DC group by 0.001 (p<0.05).' Why were these parameters not measured in the control group to allow for a robust comparison of the results? .It makes no sense that the authors tend to repeat their results in both table and graph forms. The authors should consider only one presentation mode.
